LateNight Series

What is a Basement Arts LateNight?
LateNights are one-night-only performances presented at 11PM in the Newman Studio produced by YOU and presented by Basement Arts.  These performances have included full musicals, readings of new plays, comedy showcases, moth hours, concerts, stand-up comedy, slam poetry, drag shows, plays created in 24-hours, and anything else that you can imagine!

Why should I produce through Basement Arts?
Basement Arts can provide performance space, technical resources, marketing, and other resources that you need to make your idea a successful reality.

Interested in proposing an event for our LateNight Series?

Here's a checklist for how to write your proposal.

Note: Our LateNight series is composed of shows that we curate and produce for one-night only. This means LateNights aren’t given a budget or the same perks as a MainStage production. A LateNight show could be a readings of new works, comedy stand-up, improv, variety show, dance piece... these productions are either complete, or incomplete for the purpose of workshopping. We aren't able to give a rehearsal space for LateNight shows.

LateNight Proposal should consist of:

  • Synopsis of the play/show and why you’re interested in working with Basement Arts

  • List your preferred performance dates, #1 being most ideal and #4 being least ideal.

    • Performance dates are as follows:

      • October 26th

      • November 2nd

      • November 23rd

      • January 25th

  • Production Team

    • Tell us who is involved!

  • Technical Elements List

    • Description of the lights, props, set, costumes necessary for this production.
